Actually, my brother-in-law who lives on the FAR side of Beaverton told me that he'd ride the MAX out here to see games- and I know that he would. this, of course, is only anecdotal- but I'm willing to bet that if this all happens when he DOES make it out here he wouldn't be the only Beavertonite in the stands.

Realistically, there would be fewer Beaver fans from Beaverton attending games and more from Gresham. I'd go to a lot more games than I would go to if they were located in Beaverton, Tualitin or Vancouver. I'd say that the faces would change somewhat, but that the numbers would remain about the same.

Only time will tell. And time will only tell if this actually happens! There are a lot of factors that would have an impact of attendance. I wouldn't pretend to know how many people would attend games out here- and if anyone really claims that they DO know- they're makin' it up, if you ask me.

The average AA game has only 6500 people, and in Portland it is only about 5300. Who is going to travel all the way to Lents to watch a AA game? I will bet if the stadium gets built, it will fold withing 5 years, due to attendance of less than 2000 per game

I waffle on this a bit. On the one hand- as a homeowner 2 blocks from the possible ballpark, I am not thrilled by the idea of the noise and parking problems- BUT- and this is a big BUT:
We already live with absurdly loud neighbors, tweakers, and winos.
I can't possibly see how bringing money into the neighborhood could make it any WORSE. At least they'd observe a noise curfew, whereas my neighbors party hard till 4am.
We DID buy our houses in Crackton- and it's not going to get any better by moaning and groaning about posible improvements, even if we aren't 100% pleased with every aspect of them.

So I say do it!

I know that it's not perfect as far as plans go, but what neighborhood needs the revamping more than us?

To bring the stadium to the park will enhance the park and its versility. If you look at the stadium now its amenities are way outdated. just think of the venues that could be here and how the diversity of the neighborhood could be reflected in both the use of the stadium and the park. all it takes is coming to the meetings,

Bringing the Beavers here is NOT a major league team. If you look at what goose hollow has in the way of agreements with the ball club you will realize that litter is not that major a concern.parking has been adressed and if you have concerns please come to the meetings and we can adress them.

I say bring it to lents! you people are being way too narrow minded. There would still be plenty of green space. the possibility of new small, local businesses opening up because of a new stadium/ ballpark? you all are crazy for wanting this opportunity to pass by without seriously thinking about. Look at the bigger picture poeple! Yes the picture bigger than you! It is called our neighborhood. i lived in salt lake city a block and a half from the minor league park and the management kept the park and the surrounding area free from garbage. to be a kid and have a park like that so close to home is an awesome thing. all of you are being selfish! this IS exactly what lents and SE portland need! quit being a bunch of bitter poeple and have a little fun! yes, i do own a home in the neighborhood as well.

Eric - The Beavers aren't a major league team. They are a minor league team that averages less than 5,000 people per game and play about 70 home games a year.

I am also a homeowner 1.5 blocks from the proposed stadium. I am adamantly against sighting a major league team in the park. The parking and litter problems that go along with any major event site would be intolerable.

Hello,

I am a homeowner in the area and I am very concerned about the stadium that may be built in Lents Park. I aggree with the other posts. Why would we build a stadium in a wonderful park that the community constantly uses? I live one block away from the park and will not appreciate the loud events, additional traffic, and disruption of the greenspace. Dewey if you have an email list for the neighborhood meetings I would like to be included on the list.

Thanks,
